Airbnb has become increasingly popular over the last several years as an alternative to hotels while traveling. Users can choose from a wide array of houses, apartments or condos to stay in with a variety of budgeting options in countless locations across the world.
It works out for both parties—sellers are able to rent out their homes when they’re not occupying it and renters get a unique and often well-placed place to stay. In fact, it’s become such a popular platform that many places exist solely as rentals year-round or even as full-fledged bed and breakfasts.
For the most part, Airbnb’s are reasonably priced—usually less expensive than the average hotel in the area. However, there are some that are priced well above the average price of around $150/night. Whether they cater to weddings and private events or simply aim to attract the rich and famous, some of these gorgeous properties can rival the world’s fanciest hotels.
We’ve scouted the most expensive Airbnb in the cities where search volume for Airbnb was highest. What we found were some of the most opulent homes available on the platform. Enjoy!

Methodology: We measured the search volume for the term ‘Airbnb’ and took the top 20 ranking cities. From there, we scoured the listings for each city until we found the most expensive listing in each. Listings that were deliberately price-hiked to discourage booking or fake listings were not considered. Only those who opted in and gave permissions were included.
