Every year, Simply Self Storage awards a full-time employee with Team Member of the Year Award. The recipient of this award is awarded based off their attitude towards their work and coworkers, their dedication to go above and beyond what is assigned to them, knowledge and expertise of his or her’s department, and is an asset to the Simply Self Storage team.
What are three fun facts about yourself?
I have a passion for the stock market, especially technical analysis (analyzing stock charts) and options trails. My honors thesis, The “CSI effect” on jurors, criminals, and the American court system, is published in the library at Alma mater- oh and I love beauty trends!
What inspired you to become a paralegal?
I remember reading through each and every major the university had to offer before choosing a career path. I wanted to focus on a major that could be useful to me daily, not only on the job. After careful consideration, I chose legal studies.
Tell us about being a Senior Paralegal at Simply Self Storage.
First and foremost, I absolutely love my job! I have the opportunity to help protect and defend the company should any legal issue arise. However, I also have to be one step ahead in order to prevent any issues from arising. Another benefit is that I am able to be part of the company’s growth as I assist the development and acquisition team with closings, contracts, and other matters.
What are the biggest rewards of being a paralegal at Simply Self Storage?
The biggest reward of my job is being able to be part of Simply’s legal team and the fact that we have the opportunity to interact and assist all of our properties with any actual, or potential, legal issues. It is always our goal to ensure that all team members know that the legal team for them and the company at all times. To me, this is very rewarding.
What makes Simply Self Storage stand apart from other self-storage companies?
Many self-storage companies can provide the same service, but there is one factor that can make it stand apart from the rest- that is the people. I can proudly say that Simply Self Storage stands apart from every other self-storage company because of its amazing team members. From its Chief Executive Officer to the corporate office and those working in operations, you will find some of the greatest, most talented and caring people in the industry. The company culture is so positive and is always driven to do right not only by its employees but to each and every customer alike. I am honored to be part of a company with such great values.
What has been your proudest moment at Simply Self Storage?
At Simply Self Storage, we are always striving to offer the best quality service to all our customers. Last year, our learning and development team created training videos to help bring these practices to life. I was fortunate enough to be part of those videos. Just knowing how much it helped our team and the company really made me feel proud. Oh, and I was also very proud and honored to be 2017 New Team Member of the Year!
In your opinion, how does self-storage improve the lives of people? Without self-storage, people may have to get rid of their beloved personal belongings if they do not have space in their homes. Businesses may put their company at risk by not having a place to properly retain records as required by law. In these situations and many more, self-storage improves lives because it provides them space and a piece of mind knowing that their items can be easily accessed and are stored in a safe and secure environment. Self-storage is not just for items you could find in a home or business. Many people do not consider the fact that there are storage options for vehicles, boats, and trailers.
What are some things we would find in your storage unit?
You would find a bunch of old textbooks, winter clothing, and holiday décor.
