Mini Storage Units
Why Mini Storage?
If you have small or medium-sized belongings to store, you probably don’t need (or want) a full sized unit. The primary reason to choose mini storage over other self storage options is that you’ll save money by doing so. Mini storage will hold all your items safely and won’t leave you feeling like you wasted money or space by renting a larger space than necessary.
What Can I Keep In A Mini Storage Unit?
Some items are better not kept in any size storage unit, even a mini unit. Many people want to keep musical instruments in mini storage units so that they don’t get damaged during a move. However, instruments can sustain damage inside a storage unit as well, particularly if the unit isn’t climate-controlled.
Guitars, for example, can be damaged both by extreme temperatures and rapid temperature changes. The woods and materials used can expand and contract in the heat and cold, which could permanently damage your instrument.
Some people also worry about storing photographs, since they can be damaged in the light or heat. As long as they are kept in an acid-free container, though, which doesn’t allow much light to get in, they should be safe and well-preserved.
