Mini Storage Faqs
- Can a guitar be put into a mini-storage safely without the risk of damaging it?
The enemy of guitars is not only temperature extremes, but also rapid changes in temperature. A guitar (it doesn't matter if it's electric or acoustic) is made of up of a lot of different kinds of woods and other materials. They all expand and contract at different rates.
When you have a rapid temperature change, the materials that change with temperature the most either pull away or push against the materials that are slower to change. This is how you get cracks in the finish and the wood as well.
If the guitars are inside of a storage unit, then the temperature changes will be moderated somewhat.
- If I were to put some photographs in a mini storage unit, will they be safe?
Yes if put into an acid free container that would allow very little light to get into the container. They will be fine as long as they're out of direct light or heat.
Simply Storage units provide storage services in Sterling Heights, Michigan; Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and many other cities as well.
